Intelligence is not artificial

The knowledge of expert people reaches the mainstream slowly.
Our curated academic collaborations – for their world is ours – take us straight to the source: the places where intelligence is not artificial.
1. Image notes
The image shows a Penrose triangle, a geometry which cannot exist in 4-dimensional reality. Artificial intelligence systems, especially popular Large Language Models, vary widely and inconsistently in their ability to correctly identify this fact.
The image also includes an illustrative example of adversarial noise; in this case, it is not coded to initiate any action. Most humans cannot spot the concealed structure.
The hazards of adversarial noise in apparently normal images are widely recognised in domains such as self-driving vehicles. Their profound implications for cybersecurity in other sectors have received less attention.
It is our ethos to know things like this – because intelligence is not artificial.
